Widgetop have launched a mobile edition optimized for iPhone of their Dashboard AJAX Widgets. The service provides hundreds of widgets organized in different categories. You can find almost everything from reading email, rss, weather, news, sport, shopping, fun, games, search … etc. Probably the first AHAX widgets engine ready for iPhone. Widgetop provides also an API to create new widgets and extend the system.

Gas.App is a very useful application to help iPhone users find the closest cheap gas station. You just enter the zip of your location and Gas.app will give you prices for regular, plus, or premium. Location of different gas station is listed and you can click on the map to see it the location on Google maps. Direction will be integrated soon and will certainly make the application more exciting to use. Gas.app uses SimpleJS library with PHP to retrieve gas prices.

101Cookbooks folks were very quick to launch an iPhone interface of their recipes database. The interface is pretty simple and cool, but no AJAX in the air. you can simply browse recipes categories, or visit the ten latest recipes. Just wondering in what the links back to the original website are useful ? Why someone from an iPhone will be curious to open the original link if there is already an optimized version of the content ?
